Holidays at Universal Orlando Resort #HolidayLikeThis
Earlier this month, I was lucky enough to be invited by my friends at Universal Orlando Resort to come experience all the magic of the holidays at their resort! This year, they are inviting their guests to put a little mischief in their merry as they take the holiday season to new heights with an all-new lineup of festivities! While I have visited Universal Orlando Resort during the holiday season in the past, I was especially excited to experience all the new and amazing transformations taking place in the parks and beyond!
While there were really so many amazing experiences during my weekend at the Universal Orlando Resort, here are a few highlights of the must-see fun and festivities!
Experience Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter as Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are transformed with wondrous spirit.
As a HUGE Harry Potter fan, I was so very excited to see how the 2 parks were going to transform for the holidays. On the Universal Studios Florida side, Diagon Alley and London are transformed with festive décor and brilliant lighting. There are special holiday treats and drinks, and the atmosphere is brimming with excitement!
My favorite had to be the performance by Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees, with a special show prepared just for the occasion. Totally wish those songs were recorded and available for purchase…would be my new favorite Christmas tunes!
We also explored Hogsmeade, over at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The shops look so festive decorated in garland and I really loved the Frog Choir that prepared a special show for the holidays. To wrap up the perfect evening in the park, we enjoyed the The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts™, which is a projection show that wraps the castle in spectacular holiday spirit. It will defintely get any Harry Potter fan teary-eyed!
Watch the live retelling of Dr. Seuss’s classic holiday tale starring The Grinch as the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular returns.
While we were exploring Islands of Adventure we made a special stop at Seuss Landing which was filled with the Christmas charm and cheer of Who-ville! I ran into some of the Who who were singing their carols down the road and joined in with them for a bit! You also cannot miss the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular which is a live retelling of the classic holiday tale starring The Grinch. It was such a great way to get in the spirit of the holidays!
Merry and Mayhem combine as the Minions join Santa Claus in the all-new Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s.
Make sure you save room in your schedule to join in on the fun at Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s, a holiday favorite that also features characters from Madagascar and Shrek. While I’ve seen this parade a couple times, you can defintely tell they upped their game this time around and the parade was packed with so many fun characters, floats, and balloons!
How amazing does all that sound? It really was as much fun as it looks! Also, if you are considering staying at one of the Universal Orlando Resort properties, I can vouch for the Cabana Bay Beach Resort which is my favorite! It was such a fun combination to enjoy the holiday fun at the parks, but then head back to the resort to relax with some pool time…that’s Florida for you!
And if the water life is your thing, Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is actually connected to their newest park, Universal’s Volcano Bay! This water theme park boasts a carefree attitude the fabled Waturi islanders have embraced on their Pacific isle for centuries. Now you can live the Waturi way at this all-new park where thrills and relaxation flow in perfect harmony.
What I really love is that even during those rare cool days in Orlando, you can still enjoy the water! At Universal’s Volcano Bay water theme park the water is delightfully warm during the cooler months – no doubt heated by lava deep below the Krakatau volcano!
Before these amazing celebrations end on January, you should defintely consider celebrating the season at Universal Orlando™! You’ve never had a #HolidayLikeThis.
