Primavera Cocktail Time!
Spring is quickly approaching and that means picnics, outdoor parties, and brunches galore! Especially in Miami, if we are hosting an outdoor event, a chilled and refreshing cocktail is a must-have for your guests to keep them cooled and happy during your fiesta. I’m always looking for light and refreshing drink recipes to mix things up at my gatherings, so I wanted to share a few of my recent favorites with you!
The first recipe features Fos Mastiha which has been created to elicit a true taste of Greek Culture. This drink will get you in the mood to grab a sheet and plan a toga party with FOS Mastiha this Spring Break! Only harvested once per year, Mastiha undergoes a traditional process, including mixing it with high quality alcohol and secret ingredients before distillation and bottling. This light and refreshing spirit lends itself to a variety of Greek-inspired cocktails that will keep you having fun without feeling guilty!
- 1 1/3 oz. of FOS Mastiha
- 2/3 oz. premium gin
- 1/4 cucumber no skin no seeds
- 1/3 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 oz. simple syrup
- 1 dash angostura bitters
- Muddle cucumber in base of shaker. Add rest of ingredients and shake with ice. Strain onto a chilled martini glass and garnish with a thin slice of cucumber
The second cocktail recipe includes Marlee’s Green Tea Whiskey, which I absolutely adore! This whiskey is packed with energy, antioxidants and unique flavor that makes and excellent compliment to any spring time activity! Sip some Marlee’s Green Tea Whiskey–it’s all the goodness of Green Tea but much more fun! In fact, the central compound in green tea that delivers much of its antioxidant benefits, polyphenols, are found in higher concentration in an 8 oz serving than that of the average cup of green tea! Marlee’s keeps it simple, using only a handful of ingredients: American Rye Whiskey, Gunpowder Green Tea and Organic Mexican Blue Agave.
When it comes to recipes, this drink really doesn’t need much more than 1 mixer. For an even more simple cocktail, just squeeze in some lemon and top with mint.
Hard Arnold Palmer:
- Add your favorite lemonade to taste
- Pour over ice and enjoy
Moscow Mule with a Twist:
- Add Ginger beer too taste
- Pour over ice and enjoy…the simpler the better!
So which of these recipes wets your whistle? Hopefully they will bring a little extra fun to your gatherings this Spring! If you have other variations of this recipe that you would like to share, make sure you let us know in the comments below!
