Best Break-up Songs in Spanish…According to Las Gringas
Everyone needs some good música to get them through a bad breakup and Las Gringas are here to provide you with our recommendations for what we consider the best break-up songs! From Paulina Rubio to Ricardo Arjona, whether you need sappy, spiteful, or hopeful…you can always find just the right song for your mood and when it its in Spanish, it always sounds better. Right?
After you peruse our lista, please let us know which songs you would add!
1. “Me Voy” by Julieta Venegas
The momento you know you need to get out of a dead-end relationship, it’s time to say “Me Voy” and get outta there! Now, if we could only escape via a hot air balloon like Julieta, that would be fantastic.
2. “Dame Otro Tequila” by Paulina Rubio
Ready to get out and drink away the memory of a bad break-up? Then look no further than one of Las Gringas’ fave song featuring tequila (because there are more than one). We particularly love this video, because not only does she down shots of tequila while surrounded by sexy men…but she then sets things on fire! Dale Paulina!
3. “¡Corre!” by Jesse y Joy
We had to include this song in our lista, because its pretty much the biggest break-up song of the year…and we love it. While this song is more for people who are just realizing they need to run away from a not-so-good novio/novia, it still totally counts!
4. “Eterna Soledad” by Enanitos Verdes
Oldie but a goodie, this is some pretty deep stuff…so hopefully you can’t relate to eterna soledad, but if you do, don’t forget you still have amigas in Las Gringas!
5- “Rata de Dos Patas” – Paquita la del Barrio
Now we are getting to the good stuff! This is probably the meanest song ever…and coming from Paquita, its also the most awesome way to tell a guy just really what you feel about him. Can’t find words horrible enough to describe a good-for-nothing ex? Paquita la del Barrio has got you covered!
6- “Pequinos en la Cama” by Ricardo Arjona
Ricardo Arjona seems to know his way around a break-up and anyone in a cold relationship can relate to this canción. We also just really like the name of this track…if you are sad, we hope it makes you think of cute penguins.
7- “No, No, No” by Aventura featuring Thalia
Ever wanted to listen to Thalia break up with Romeo Santos? Well, now you can! This is a fantastic bachata from back in the Aventura days…and there is even a little dialogue action in the middle that gets pretty dramatic. No need to thank us.
8- “Lloraras” by Oscar d’ Leon
How about combining a little bit of dancing into your break-up playlist? For those who are ready to show-off to your ex about just what they are missing, then Oscar d’ Leon is your man! Put this on and do some salsa steps and you will feel better in no time!
9- “Si la ves” by Franco De Vita
Probably the saddest song in our lista because Franco just has a way to break your heart with his letras. This might be a little too sad if you are ready to get over a break-up, but will touch your corazón if you are missing your ex.
10- “Que Hiciste” by Jennifer Lopez
Because Las Gringas can’t create any sort of list without including JLO. We actually love this song because Jennifer is singing in Spanish and the video is kick-ass…and it just so happens to be an awesomely bitter break-up song which, like Paulina’s vid, includes catching the man’s possessions on fire. Apparently that’s the thing to do?
What do you think? Have we missed your favorite break-up song? Tell us below!
