Shakira Gives Birth: Truth or Piqué’s Twitter Prank?

Just the exciting news we have been waiting for…or is it?! Earlier today, Piqué tweeted that Shakira had given birth to their little baby boy. Exciting right? Well…don’t fall for it that quickly (like we did). Apparently, December 28th is “Dia de los Inocentes” in Spain. For those who don’t know, that’s pretty much the equivalent of “April Fools Day” for us gringos.

So, here is the pregunta: Is that just a coincidence or is Pique pulling a huge prank on all of us?

Let’s look at la verdad, here is what we know:

1. If Shakira did give birth today, she would be pretty premature. Her due date was estimated to be the end of January/early February.
2. No reports have come from Shakira peeps…and they are usually really good at announcing her good news via Facebook or Twitter
3. Piqué and his fellow soccer mate, Messi, are known for their practical jokes on and off the field

 So, is that enough evidence for you…or are you still holding out hope that Shakira has given birth to a healthy baby boy today?
