Shakira Confirms Pregnancy…Finally

Por fin!!! After meses and meses of rumors, Shakira finally confirmed that she and Gerard Piqué are having their first baby. We have been posting about this chisme for months, so its almost a relief to hear that she officially announced the big news. But, just after a few moments of Gringa-ecstasy (baby…mini-Shakira…aaaahhh), my mind was immediately flooded with more questions and doubts:

1. Why now?

I have a feeling she didn’t make this announcement in order to appease her fans. Take a look at the message from her Facebook page below and see if you have the same doubts I did….

While, I’m muy muy contenta she shared her noticias with us all…it seems that her main motivation was to explain the reason for cancelling her appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival happening this weekend (talk about waiting until the last minute). Just makes me wonder if she would have kept mum on the topic if it hadn’t been for this prior engagement….

2. Is it a boy?

The rumor mill is pretty determined that she is giving birth to a baby boy. While I totally understand their need for privacy, it almost seems easier just to clear the air 100%, no? Well…I guess we will just have to wait to see if there’s a mini-Piqué on the way.

3. What about The Voice?

This is the pregunta that is giving me the most trouble. I just want to understand how she is going to be a judge on the Spring season of The Voice….there are 2 options: She is either really far along in her pregnancy (like 6 months plus) and will have plenty of time to recover before her Voice commitment OR she is going to be about to pop while sitting in her red judges chair. Aaaah…the crazy life of an estrella…trying to fit in having precious little babies between concert and TV engagements!

 So…anyone else still wondering about this? Are you happy with Shakira’s announcement?
