Lesson 7: How to Say You’re Hungover.
Hola! I’m here to get you ready for the weekend with a quick lesson on how to express your pain after a noche full of fiesta. As with many terms in Spanish, there isn’t just one way to say you’re hungover, but I’ve done my best to compile a list and it’s up to you to decide which works best for you!
This is the term I learned in Mexico, but it also seems to be a widely-used phrase to express the hang-over. Also, in case you didn’t know, crudo means raw….used also when ordering your steak rare/medium-rare (double lesson, bam!)
Estoy de goma:
Definitely the funniest way to express being hungover, Estoy de goma, literally means: I’m gummy or I’m made of rubber. So, if not just to get a laugh out of people, this could be a fun way to express a not-so-fun feeling!
Apparently, this is the “official” way to say hungover, since if you look up resaca in the Spanish dictionary…it tells you: hungover.
But, if you ask me, it’s boring…so I’ll stick with crudo or goma 🙂
